There’s nothing like coming into a new town and feeling welcomed with open arms!
As we rolled into beautiful Salisbury, Maryland on Saturday afternoon, the sky was a perfect shade of royal blue and a breeze gently helped us load our amplifiers onto the stage at Headquarters Live. The crowd popped with enthusiasm from the first tune, our Farfisa organ-powered version of “The Golden Road.” What a thrill to see so many new fans on the dance floor, tearing into a night of good feeling.
The Better Off Dead tribe was also there in force. We are so proud to have a group of fans who know this music as well as we do and who turn our shows into weekend-long events. The bus rolled up and also boosted our desire, and we’re pretty sure that our debut version of “The Stranger”—sung with gospel power by our angel Jess Lake—lifted spirits and souls. By the end of the night, it seemed to us, there was no longer a difference between new fans and old ones. We can’t wait to get back to Delmarva and Salisbury!
